In honor of the client who complained about our holiday hours

As our clients know, SJN Sales project teams deliver either direct sales or consulting. Direct sales teams at SJN are performance-compensated, meaning that our team leaders get paid after we deliver results. Therefore, project managers set their own hours during common holidays, because we aren't paying anyone to clean up his desk on the Wed. of US Thanksgiving week--it just doesn't make sense. We review each staffer's production (measurable results) each year, and we're confident that this system works. For our clients as well as for us. So when we get a complaint about SJN Sales staff who fail to schedule meetings on holiday weekends, we print out the email and hang it on the Wall of Shame...right over the dartboard. But at least we're not working with retail customers who can't figure out why the store they're shopping in opens on Thanksgiving! http://notalwaysright.com/before-black-friday-comes-brainless-thursday/25549

Best complaint ever: Attacked by chihuahua, vet bites back.

You can't make this stuff up. And at some level, cable is a waste of your entertainment dollar considering many police departments and courts file their reports online. The comments are the true comedy gold. Dig deep.

The Customer is Always _________: fill in the blank

SJN Sales handles complaints from about 20 percent of our customers. These always take the same form: It's a scam for you to enforce your contract! We pride ourselves on using agreements that are written in plain English--we typically write a draft, then have a legal professional review to make sure we're not giving away 15 months of service for $980 (funny story about that) or anything similarly boneheaded. Then we present the agreement and negotiate with the prospective client to assure that everyone understands the same meaning from that plain language. So it's hard to understand how following and enforcing that agreement leads to complaints, but there you have it.

SJN Sales Gets Complaints

And how are they handled? Complaints are usually along the lines of, I want to return this TV because it's too big for my living room.
